About

Project Graduation (PG) is a volunteer parent group that raises money and makes plans for a special surprise event for ALL graduates on graduation night.  It is part of a nation wide effort with each group raising funds for their own town/city high school/s.
This overnight event is chaperoned, usually by teachers that the students chose, and it’s entirely drug and alcohol free. This is a once in a lifetime event, one that our students will remember and cherish for the rest of their lives!

Past events have included trips to Boston, Harbor Cruises, trips to Six Flags, white water rafting, renting a facility with activities like swimming, trampolines, tennis, basketball, inflatable games, dancing, a hypnotist, etc..

Every year, over 90% of Newmarket graduates attend the planned surprise event – it’s something that the kids look forward to all year!

In order to provide this special event to our graduates, Newmarket High School Project Graduation volunteers set a goal of raising at least $200 per graduating student to cover all expenses. This fund raising is done by selling items, raffle tickets, monthly BINGO games, donated prizes, or generous contributions from businesses, family, and friends. All money goes towards the PG funding of the surprise graduation ”safe” event planned by the parents of graduating seniors.

Parent meetings (for parents of current seniors) are held at the high school cafeteria every month to plan and organize events.

Any help from local businesses or the general public is welcomed and very much appreciated.
